beekeeping is Better with Friends.

The Permian Basin Beekeeping Association (PBBA) was founded in the summer of 2023 in response to a growing need for local beekeepers to connect, learn, and support one another. Beekeeping in the Permian Basin presents unique challenges due to its harsh climate, and local beekeepers were seeking a place to gather, share experiences, and exchange practical knowledge specific to this environment.

What began as a simple effort to bring beekeepers together quickly revealed a strong and diverse community—many well-established beekeepers alongside an even greater number of individuals eager to get started. This enthusiasm and shared purpose led to the formation of a local beekeeping association designed to support both beginner and experienced beekeepers through education, mentorship, and community collaboration.

PBBA Club Objectives

01

Encourage & Promote Beekeeping

By holding monthly meetings, that are open to the public, we can encourage those who have an interest in beekeeping.

As club members attend local fairs, farmer markets, and work on promoting beekeeping through education we can create a strong community of beekeepers that have good relationships with local farmers, gardeners, and other individuals.

02

Gain Knowledge & Exchange Ideas

When beekeepers get together they learn from one another. No apiary is the same, and we can all learn from each other. This creates a strong network of local apiaries that have strong and healthy hives.

03

Share Techniques & Skills

There are so many variables in beekeeping that are learned along the way. If you have friends in beekeeping, you can share and learn techniques and skills that are relevant to your area.

04

Personal Mentoring & Formal Training

We will provide mentors to new beekeepers through the club. We will also provide beekeeping classes through the year.

Meet Our Board members

Our Bee Club Board is made up of dedicated beekeepers with a wide range of experience and years spent caring for honey bees. Each board member brings unique knowledge, skills, and perspectives that strengthen our club and benefit our local community.

We are passionate about sharing our love of beekeeping through education, mentorship, and hands-on support. Whether you are a new beekeeper just getting started or an experienced beekeeper looking to expand your knowledge, our club is here to help.

As we look toward the future, one of our goals is to expand our educational outreach to youth programs. We hope to inspire the next generation to learn about honey bees, pollinators, environmental stewardship, and the important role bees play in our community.

Together, our board is committed to educating, supporting, and growing the beekeeping community—one beekeeper and one bee at a time.
